What is a Mental Health Therapist?

Updated over 3 months ago

At DiveThru, we use the term Mental Health Therapists for someone who has completed their Masters but is still waiting for their provisional registration from the College Of Alberta Psychologists, the board they are governed by and regulated under.

Please note: This term may mean something different in another practice.

Once the Mental Health Therapist becomes a Registered Provisional Psychologist, a client can choose to continue their 25 sessions with them (and now have a rate of $150 and be covered under their insurance plan, if applicable) or look to be rematched to another Mental Health Therapist (if available) to stay on the $125 session rate for their remaining sessions left in the program.
